Vancouver Island's Largest Condo Development

Colwood Corners was the site of what Colwood Mayor Carol Hamilton is calling the breaking of “ambitious” ground. Today, Vancouver Island and the City of Colwood celebrate a lineage of progress with the announcement of Capital City Centre - a billion dollar, 20-year live/work development project lead by international corporate vanguards - LEAGUE. Capital City Centre will become the largest urban project of its kind on Vancouver Island with 12 residential towers, multi-storey office buildings and feature retail spaces. Carol Hamilton, Emanuel Arruda, Adam Gant, Allan Cahoon LEAGUE founders and financial partners, Adam Douglas Gant and Emanuel Furtado Arruda, will be moving right in; Gant and Arruda pledge to move their own corporate headquarters into the first sub-phase of the development. LEAGUE will occupy 25,000 square feet of office space, a commitment to immersing and investing in the interests and successes of Capital City Centre. On the origin of its name, Arruda explains: Capital City will represent a cumulation of capital interests - human capital as its civic centers connect people with their community; natural capital as it respects and preserves its relationship to its spectacular natural environment; solar capital as it emanates dependable, green solar energy; and financial capital as it invests in and employs its residents and attracts international support. You will come to expect the finest in urban planning and architecture with design by renowned firm Musson Cattell Mackey. The evolution of Capital City Centre’s several phases of development will begin with an initial investment of $250 million into a four-storey residential/commercial space and twin 26-storey residential towers with additional retail space. The ultimate 2,200 projected condominiums will be zoned for ownership, favourable to residents and investors alike. Above all, Victoria’s own Gant and Arruda promise to thoughtfully consider the interests and needs of Colwood and inspire great development in industry and lifestyle for the immediate and growing community. As LEAGUE’s crested seal assures, their word is their bond; their honour, their glory. And so, Capital City Centre is born - the realization of great ambition.

Capital City Presentation Centre is scheduled to open this summer. First phase occupancy is currently scheduled for late 2013.
