Focus Equities Unveiled Bayview Place in Vic West
Focus Equities unveiled Bayview Place – a new vision for the historic Roundhouse precinct at Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub. The Bayview team hosted a media event that showcased a sense of place, character and animated spirit to help convey their vision for the new emerging neighbourhood in Vic West.
Eight development principles will guide and shape the Bayview neighbourhood were presented to Spinnakers Brewpub, and to emerging local chef apprentices from Camosun College. As a team, they set about blending and assigning distinctive flavours, intentional textures and striking personalities. What does a neighbourhood taste like?
Food and drink pairing's aren’t typically used as a presentation medium to convey a new vision for a real estate development. As eating and drinking can either be treated as a chore or experience, so can your day-to-day life. Bayview Place will increase the livability of the neighbourhood and will serve as a cultural hub, where residents from Vic West and downtown can experience an enhanced life. Preliminary plans for the roundhouse precinct make mention of an outdoor amphitheater area, restaurants, shops, walkways that connect to neighbouring communities and more.
Many factors have been taken into consideration when defining Bayview Place’s eight guiding principles. They include: sustainability, the history of the site, a sense of place, the incorporation of new and old architecture, integration of multi-use pathways and connecting to outside routes, the contribution of public open spaces, enhancement of the livability and lastly a goal to realize economic vitality and viability.
Bayview Place is currently in the approval process and aims to begin construction in early 2014 with completion in 2015.
