The Promontory: Ten storeys high & the excitement is building
This past Sunday, dozens of excited purchasers turned out to take part in a construction tour of Promontory, hosted by the Bosa Properties team. Over a hundred condo owners and prospective purchasers – some hailing from as far away as Calgary – climbed eight flights of stairs to enjoy city, ocean and mountain views from all sides of the rapidly forming tower. The construction tour is a new approach in Victoria, offering a personalized way for developers to introduce purchasers to their product – and to form lasting relationships.
“After twenty years of raising our kids and living in Sidney, we sold our house,” says empty-nester Patti Moran, who attended the tour with her husband Marty. Preferring that their act of downsizing take them closer to the heart of the action at Victoria’s inner harbour, the Morans decided a condominium was the way to go, as the couple travels frequently. “We’re on the nineteenth floor,” says Patti, grinning from ear to ear as she stood in the very corner of the building in which her own suite will be built (the Morans rented an apartment close to Promontory so they can watch – and post updates to Facebook – as the building takes shape).

For condo buyers on the west coast, Bosa has come to be associated with quality. “When our condos go up for resale in Vancouver,” says Senior Vice-President Daryl Simpson, “they’re often advertised as being Bosa-built.” High praise – but well deserved. If the construction at present is anything to go by, Promontory is getting the same rock-solid treatment as its many Bosa predecessors. With its unique location in Vic West, Promontory is poised to be the centre of Bayview Place, a bustling urban hub that blends a public market, cafes and parks, not to mention a revitalized Canadian Pacific Railway roundhouse complete with 40,000 square feet of retail shops.
Starting at $223,900 for a 455-square foot studio and ranging up to $599,900 for an 1130-square foot two-bedroom with nook, the views are stunning no matter where within Promontory’s 21 floors you hang your hat. Move-in is scheduled for early summer next year.
