Bosa Properties Begins Construction at Promontory
Mayor Dean Fortin, dignitaries, the media, and development partners Bosa Properties and Focus Equities gathered today to break ground on the inner harbour’s newest condo development: Promontory at Bayview Place. The twenty-one-storey building, the first of 2 condo towers by Bosa, is located at 65 Saghalie Road. This project has already sold 40% of available condo suites, and will be completed in 2014. Excited owners also came to the event, eager to see the start of construction on their new homes.
Colin Bosa, President of Bosa Properties, welcomed guests and acknowledged his family-run company was proud to have a “small role in the growth of a beautiful city”. The project is expected to provide 150 jobs at the peak of construction and Bosa added he hopes this building will be the first of many more to come in the Victoria market for his company.
Bosa Properties has pledged to donate $1,000 per suite sold at Promontory to a local charitable organization. As part of the today’s event, a donation of $10,000 was presented to the James Bay Community Project. Donations have also been made to Community Micro Lending, Every Step Counts and the Burnside Gorge Community Association. For this project, $177,000 will be donated, and $60,000 remains in the fund that will be pledged to Victoria area community groups in the name of Promontory.
Focus Equities – a Mariash Company, owners Ken and Patty Mariash, are the master developers of Bayview Place and they have ambitious plans for this growing neighborhood. Promontory is the second building in the twenty-acre waterfront neighborhood with plans that include future construction of a luxury hotel, seniors residence, additional residences, green space and renovation of the Roundhouse building. A former Canadian Pacific Railway building, the Roundhouse is being developed as an urban public market and will aim to be a destination for locals and tourists to get the best of fresh and local foods.
Excited local buyer, Shirley W., has invested in a water view condo unit and is planning to make a move to retirement. She was attracted to the project because of its location, and describes the investment as "down-sizing with an upgrade in lifestyle". Another buyer, Greg S., is looking forward to moving day. Greg is a first time home owner and selected the Promontory condos for its attractive prices for first time buyers. He feels confident with his real estate investment especially with Bosa Properties' reputation, and their commitment to the Victoria communities.
There are two limited-time-only promotions at Promontory. One offers you $1,000 to refer a friend - and your friend would receive $1,000 towards their purchased home (ends Feb 28, 2012).
