Victoria’s Tallest Building Tops Off!

Bosa Properties’ Promontory is at the Centre of Victoria’s Next Urban Hub Good things are happening on “the other side of the bridge”. That includes the recent topping off of Promontory, the exciting new development overlooking the inner harbor by long-time developer Bosa Properties. So tall it is visible from just about everywhere in downtown Victoria, Promontory is the second phase of Bayview Place, a 20-acre parcel of property being developed by Focus Equities in the Songhees and Vic West area. It’s one of the first condominium developments to recognize the area’s up-and-coming value to homeowners, especially those who want to enjoy Victoria’s waterfront from the hassle-free comfort of a condo. “To me, this area feels much more like a residential neighbourhood,” says Promontory Sales Manager Kelley Olinger. “It feels more established, more like a retreat – away from the noise and hustle-and-bustle that comes from living in the downtown core.” promontory-condo-kelley-olingerKelley Olinger, Promontory Sales Manager, standing on the 21st floor of Promontory. Promontory is a beacon of what’s to come in Vic West. The restoration planned for Victoria’s historic CPR roundhouse at the junction of Esquimalt and Kimta Roads is a central part of the excitement that’s building for Bayview Place. Plans for The Roundhouse include a craft brewery, a café and restaurant, and an anchor grocery store. Also in the works is the 29-slip Victoria International Marina, to be constructed along the Inner Harbour just south of Promontory. promontory-bosa-condo-victoria Promontory is ideally placed to capitalize on everything Victoria has to offer. Just a block away, the Galloping Goose regional trail beckons biking and running enthusiasts, and the world-renowned Inner Harbour, with the magic of float planes, water taxis and constant boat traffic, is a mere stone’s throw away. The new Johnson Street bridge is slated for completion in 2016; the new bridge is being built alongside the existing Blue Bridge to ensure no interruption to traffic. Already 70% sold, Promontory will be completed in April of 2014. Buyers hail from Alberta to Saskatchewan to the Yukon…even as far as Texas! A selection of suites are available, ranging from small studio homes to sub-penthouses. Square footages range from 442 to 1760, with the two-bedroom two-bathroom suites averaging about 1000 square feet. Prices are as follows: Studio $200,900-$234,900; one- bedrooms $260,900-$310,900; compact two-bedrooms (one bathroom) $368,900-$430,900; two-bed two-baths $512,900-$645,900. One sub-penthouse is $900,900; the second can be had for $1,524,900. All suites offer underground parking and air conditioning. Best of all, interested purchasers now have the opportunity to go inside the tower for a preview. It’s an exciting time for downtown Victoria development, with other condominium projects like The Janion and Union also attracting downsizers, empty-nesters, new buyers and lifestyle-seekers. “This whole area is becoming modernized,” says Kelley Olinger. “It’s a Yaletown kind of feeling.”
